Update March 6, 2013: As Animal Law Coalition exposed with its video last summer, horse tripping or roping still occurs at some Oregon rodeos. And Oregon lawmakers, state Sen. Mark Haas and state Rep. Brad Witt, are doing something about it. They have sponsored legislation that will make it a crime for anyone to "intentionally cause" any equine to trip or fall, or "intentionally" rope or lasso the legs of any equine for puposes of a rodeo, contest, exhibition, entertainment or sport or during practice for any such events.
